Technology that is accessible to everyone
The one thing that I got out of the article is that technology can be used to accommodate a students learning style. Students who need things read to them or need help with there spelling can use the technology to help them do that. There is also also other things that the students can do themselves to help facilitate their own learning. For example in the article they talk about have the students create maps using Inspiration. With this they talk about doing things like adding pictures to it to make it easier for the student to create relationships or remember relationships that have been created. These are all things that we have talked about in the class but this article further points to the need for this to occur in lots of classrooms.

I agree with your view about using different approaches to engage students and use their different strengths. Using new forms of technology enables students to apply and present information in relevant situations.
ReplyDeleteI agree- I think technology allows for students with a wide variety of learning styles to access the same information and synthesize it in a way that is meaningful to them. I really like the whole idea of "mind mapping" and using Inspiration to help engage students in more meaningful learning, especially when covering more abstract concepts.
ReplyDeleteI agree that technology provides different opportunities for students depending on their needs.
